Hiran, (insidesomalia.org)- The former provincial commissioner of Hiran region Yussuf Ahmed Hagar Debagged has said that he is yet the legal governor of Hiran region in central Somalia.

Debagged also said that the newly appointed adminstration are the opponents of the transitional federal government.

“ I have talked to the president through the wire and told that I am still the lawful governor of Hiran region,” said Debagged.

“I am right inside Baladweyn town the headquarters of Hiran region and aware of what is going on in the region and the newly appointed figures are in the town but are aware of what ever is happening in the region and don’t worth to be trusted in the region” added Yussuf Debagged.

Yussuf Debagged insisted that these individuals have direct links with government rivals specially he said with the Islamist group Al-Shabbab

“I have clear evidence that these people are in the same network with the so called A;l-Shabbab” said Debagged.

When Yussuf was asked why he is still reluctant, he said that he was appointed by decree from the president office and the president can officially strip his post again.

The scuffle between the officials in the region seems to be driving into ditch; Baladweyn has several times fallen into the control of the Islamic Courts Union
